چکیده

The Ni/SiO2 system is one of the most interesting to produce COx-free H2 and valuable carbon nanofibers (CNFs) by catalytic decomposition CH4. SiO2 effective support while Ni catalyst displays long life high activity. We studied chemical vapor deposition (CCVD) process CH4 within Ni/glass at relatively low temperature (600 °C) during times (3 h), varying amount (2.3–17.8% Ni(%)) source (100:200 100:0, CH4:N2). As increases, formation CNFs enhanced giving as a result CNFs/glass materials with more amount, longer thicker CNFs. initial microstructure glass way deposited play decisive role. Pristine porous microstructe interconnected mesopores which are progressively filled Ni, producing ink-bottle pores open ends. After CCVD or porosity Ni-doped reduced due filling (4 nm) Furthermore, large entanglements new appear (20–70 depending on processing conditions. Fish-bone hollow core bamboo-like found over surface also inside support. It observed base-growth mechanism strong interaction between support, prevents deactivation enhancing its activity for times.

Oxidation of CO and Methanol on Pd-Ni Catalysts Supported on Different Chemically-Treated Carbon Nanofibers

In this work, palladium-nickel nanoparticles supported on carbon nanofibers were synthesized, with metal contents close to 25 wt % and Pd:Ni atomic ratios near to 1:2. These catalysts were previously studied in order to determine their activity toward the oxygen reduction reaction. Before the deposition of metals, the carbon nanofibers were chemically treated in order to generate oxygen and nit...

A theoretical reasoning on why coordination catalysts supported on mesoporous supports produce HDPE crystalline nanofibers but not iPP crystalline nanofibers

Since 1999, when Takuzo Aida proposed the preparation of high density polyethylene (HDPE) crystalline nanofibers through polymerization of ethylene by a Cp2 TiCl2 /MCM-41 catalyst, many researchers have published various papers on different aspects of the idea. The published researches show that the endeavors to polymerize other types of alpha olefins, especially propylene, to obtain polyolefin...

Hydrogenation of succinic acid to 1,4-butanediol over rhenium catalyst supported on copper-containing mesoporous carbon.

Copper-containing mesoporous carbon (Cu-MC) was prepared by a single-step surfactant-templating method. For comparison, copper-impregnated mesoporous carbon (Cu/MC) was also prepared by a surfactant-templating method and a subsequent impregnation method. Rhenium catalysts supported on copper-containing mesoporous carbon and copper-impregnated mesoporous carbon (Re/Cu-MC and Re/Cu/MC, respective...

Hydrogenation of Anthracene in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Solvent Using Ni Supported on Hβ-Zeolite Catalyst

Catalytic hydrogenation of anthracene was studied over Ni supported on Hβ-zeolite catalyst under supercritical carbon dioxide (sc-CO2) solvent. Hydrogenation of anthracene in sc-CO2 yielded 100% conversion at 100 °C, which is attributed to the reduced mass transfer limitations, and increased solubility of H2 and substrate in the reaction medium. The total pressure of 7 MPa was found to be optim...

Co3O4 Nanoparticle-Decorated N-Doped Mesoporous Carbon Nanofibers as an Efficient Catalyst for Oxygen Reduction Reaction

A low cost, durable, and efficient electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reactions (ORR) is essential for high-performance fuel cells. Here, we fabricated Co3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) anchored on N-doped mesoporous carbon nanofibers (Co3O4/NMCF) by electrospinning combined with the simple heat treatment. Within this composite, carbon nanofibers possess a mesoporous structure, contributed to obtain ...
